Parenting isn’t easy!
Especially with so much information out there about development and learning, and research that is always changing. And I’m here to say that I totally get all of that. As a mom of four, a doctoral candidate, and a special education teacher for ten years, I thought I would always know what to expect and do as my babies, toddlers, and older kids have gone through developmental and learning phases. But it has been (and let’s be honest, still is) super challenging sometimes! In a society where parents are often bombarded by changing guidelines, evolving research, and activities galore to help with development, it can feel overwhelming.
So, I started “Teacher and the Tots” in 2018 to help other parents have a resource that could help. Here, I combine my years of experience in the fields of special education, literacy development, and education research with my own experience with my four kids. My goal is to provide parents with research-backed education on learning development and building routines and independence at home. Overall, my background comes from a mix of Montessori-based learning, inclusive education, literacy development, educational technology tools, and supporting students who are learning English as a second language. So, I hope that my experience and knowledge bank can help other parents to feel confident in this journey of childhood development!
A few other things to know about me:
I can’t pass up a historical fiction book, I genuinely love catching bugs with my boys, tacos and margs are my go-to, and finding grace in Jesus is what renews me.
I’m so glad you’re here and I hope you find some free resources and fresh inspiration!
